Minderoo Foundation exists to arrest unfairness and create opportunities to better the world. Established by Andrew and Nicola Forrest in 2001, Minderoo Foundation is a modern philanthropic organisation seeking to break down barriers, innovate and drive positive, lasting change. It is an independent, forward thinking and seeks effective, scalable solutions.
Tattarang is one of Australia’s largest private investment groups and is owned by the Forrest family.
Our investment portfolio spans across agri-food, energy, resources, property, hospitality, sport and entertainment.
The group is made up of six business divisions: Fiveight, Harvest Road, SFM Marine, Squadron Energy, Wyloo Metals and Z1Z.
We believe in investing for growth and pursue opportunities in both the listed and unlisted space with a long term investment horizon.
Andrew Hagger, Chief Executive Officer, Minderoo Foundation and Tattarang
Andrew Hagger joined Minderoo Foundation and Tattarang as Chief Executive Officer in March 2019.
Under Andrew’s leadership, and the auspices of Andrew and Nicola Forrest, Minderoo Foundation has expanded its work in solving some of the world’s most intractable problems – including ridding the ocean of plastic waste, developing a Blueprint to make Australia a fire and flood disaster resilience leader by 2025 and holding the world’s largest tech companies, such as Facebook and Google, to account. Andrew has also overseen the growth of Tattarang, which now comprises six business divisions across agri-food, energy, resources, property, hospitality, sport and entertainment.
Prior to joining Minderoo Foundation and Tattarang, Andrew was a member of National Australia Bank’s group executive leadership team for almost a decade and prior to that, he was Managing Partner for Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ Melbourne office.
Andrew’s long history of philanthropic leadership includes Chair of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre Appeal, Founding Director of The Wheeler Centre in Melbourne, and Senior International Advisor to Not for Sale.
Born and raised in Adelaide, Andrew developed a love for music at an early age, learning classical piano from the age of three. He has released three ARIA-charting albums and performed to sold-out audiences across Australia.
