Dame Susan Rice, Chair of Scottish Water and the Scottish Fiscal Commission

Dame Susan Rice








Dame Susan Rice was appointed Chair of Scottish Water on 1 June 2015. She is also Chair of the Scottish Fiscal Commission, Senior Independent Director of J Sainsbury’s and a Non-executive Director of the North American Income Trust, Big Society Capital and recently became Non-executive Director of C. Hoare & Co. She was a member of the First Minister’s Council of Economic Advisors, Managing Director of Lloyds Banking Group Scotland and was previously Chief Executive and then Chair of Lloyds TSB Scotland plc. She has chaired the Chartered Banker: Professional Standards Board since its inception. 

Susan is also the Chair of Business Stream and has held a range of other senior non-executive appointments including a seven year term as a non-executive Director of the Bank of England and eleven years as a non-executive Director of SSE. She is also the President of Scottish Council for Development Industry. 

Susan was made a Dame in the 2018 New Year’s Honours list for services to business, the arts and charity in Scotland.
