Managing cyber threats and responses
Cyber experts and former national intelligence professionals Richard Williams and Max Pemberton will be running an exclusive full-day in-person training package consisting of six core modules designed to extend participant knowledge beyond basic annual cyber security awareness training:
- The Threat: How does the threat operate and what makes organisations attractive
- Security System Exposure: What vulnerabilities present in systems and why they are an issue
- Cyber Security Systems: How proactive security systems work and organisational considerations
- A Risk Based Approach: How to establish a coordinated, proactive and realistic approach to cybersecurity
- The National Ecosystem: What do government agencies do and how can they help
- Incident Response: How to prepare for an incident and what to do when one occurs
This interactive training session seeks to empower managers to better understand the cyber problem set and combat this critical issue in a proactive and cost-efficient way.
Please note that this workshop will be presented as a full-day training package in person in Sydney and that catering is included in the ticket price.

Speakers
Richard Williams
Richard is the Managing Director of PSG.
Prior to commencing this role, Richard served as an officer in the Australian Army and Special Forces for over 18 years before gaining commercial experience working in the deal team at a top Australian private equity firm. Richard has extensive experience designing cyber strategies and security programs for businesses and executing incident response operations in collaboration with local and international law enforcement agencies.
Max Pemberton
Max is the Managing Director of PSG Cyber Intelligence.
Prior to commencing this role, Max served in the military for 20 years, 15 of which were spent as a team leader in the Special Forces. Since leaving the military, Max has specialised in the provision of holistic risk management and intelligence solutions across the physical, technical and human domains for high-risk companies, including fulfilling the role of principal cyber security advisor for numerous financial services firms. Max’s extensive cyber experience includes training financial institutions throughout the region, helping organisations implement their cyber strategies, incident response and cyber threat hunting.
